Too Cool For School Art & Science Fair

What is an Art & Science Fair?

The event was structured like a typical science fair, with forty projects and their creators assembled for one day to share their work and ideas with an audience and to compete for awards. The difference was that these projects were a mix of both art and science.

The Too Cool For School Art & Science Fair is a part of Fresh Ground new works, Harbourfront Centre’s national commissioning programme. The fair was a great success, a buzzing cacophonous afternoon of information sharing across disciplinary boundaries.

Judges and Winners

Each and every project was brilliant in its own way, so judges Sean Gryb, Hooley McLaughlin and Crystal Mowry had a difficult time choosing their three favourite displays. The winners were Elissa Ross & Patrick Ingram, Willy Le Maitre and Lisa Smolkin. They each received a prize bag containing a free membership to the Ontario Science Centre, a free pass to the Subtle Technologies Festival, a gift certificate from Above Ground Art Supplies and a gift certificate from Active Surplus. Congratulations, winners!
